Cover picture displays John Dillinger posing at his father's farm in Mooresville, Indiana. Dillinger holds the wooden gun he used to bluff guards and the 1921 Thompson machine gun that he stole during his escape. Photograph was taken after Dillinger's famous break out from the proclaimed "escape-proof" Crown Point jail..
Both Rick Mattix and 7ony Stewart had the honor of shooting Dillinger's machine gun at the Porter County Sheriff's Department, courtesy of Deputy Sheriff Dave Lain. Mattix fired 50 rounds on full automatic and Stewart fired 20 rounds from the weapon. (See Club Photos). This was both an honor and a thrill.
Club Photos include: Rick Mattix, Bill Helmer, Jeff Maycroff, Richard Crowe, and the late Marge Eker McDougal (making the Dillinger death mask) and many more.
Enjoy, ask questions and share your stories.
Respectfully,
7ony Stewart, author
